And also this is only so many times you can repeat the same plot line of Sophie betraying everyone and how often everyone thinks she has betrayed everyone。 That aside I really like the growth in Hort and Sophie's relationship and I like how it seems really natural while introducing romantic feelings on Sophie's end towards Hort and I really loved that whole subplot。 。。。more

I'm actually impressed with the 5th book。 It's so good and well-written。 And the plot twist just made me speechless。 I'm glad that the character has turn mature and very well-written。 All I gotta say is this one is the best of the best。 But not the first three。 The storyline is incredible!!! - Sophie was so good in this book because of how complicated she was and her constant self-guessing。 Her embracing her evilness yet wrestling with wanting the best for The Woods was so cool to read about。- Agatha and Tedros bored me, I was way more interested in the mystery with Tedros's father than with him at all。 - SO。 MUCH。 DEATH。 I really hope a few of the main characters die in the final book tho- THAT MYSTERY??? This series truly has my heart。 As expected, I was a little nervous about a continuation, but Quests of Glory was great even if some of the characters' developments were interesting。 This book was even better than the last one。 This middle grade series just keeps getting darker and darker and not only am I terrified about what will happen in the next and last book in this series forever, I'm also dreading finishing it。 I love this series so much and I never want it to end。 This series truly has my heart。 As expected, I was a little nervous about a continuation, but Quests of Glory was great even if some of the characters' developments were interesting。 This book was even better than the last one。 This middle grade series just keeps getting darker and darker and not only am I terrified about what will happen in the next and last book in this series forever, I'm also dreading finishing it。 I love this series so much and I never want it to end。 。。。more

This book is *chef's kiss*。 This has to be the best book in the series in my opinion。 I love the banter between Sophie and Rhian。 Their chemistry was perfect and it really felt like Sophie met her equal。 I honestly liked them more than Tedros x Agatha。 It was so fun reading the two interact that I wouldn't mind if the whole book was centered on them more。 Another thing I liked was the sense of urgency this book had。 It really felt like no one was on their side, and they were actually in danger。 This book is *chef's kiss*。 This has to be the best book in the series in my opinion。 I love the banter between Sophie and Rhian。 Their chemistry was perfect and it really felt like Sophie met her equal。 I honestly liked them more than Tedros x Agatha。 It was so fun reading the two interact that I wouldn't mind if the whole book was centered on them more。 Another thing I liked was the sense of urgency this book had。 It really felt like no one was on their side, and they were actually in danger。 There were really cute moments and it never felt dull in this book。 Plus, the random plot twists that came out of nowhere, but still worked。 Rhian was absolutely the best character in this series, hands down。 I loved reading about someone who didn't grow up in the traditional School for Good and Evil, and had a different perspective on the world。 Plus, he wasn't one dimensional。 He had depth。 He had character。 He was smart, sly, and above all, very, very charming。 I wish we had more time with his character in this book。 He represented the "morally gray" section the whole series centered around。 He blurred the lines between good and evil, the lion and the snake。 I'm salty about the ending, but still it was such a perfectly executed ending that I can't be mad。 。。。more

this book was a twisted journey, where your opinions could change in a chapter, and the plot could change in a page。 Just when you think everything is perfect, one flaw makes it all crumble down。 This is an adventure to remember, and I am sad that I only have one book left, so I plan to savor every page。

Rhian just has to DIE? And gets replaced by a cartoonish villain aka Japeth? Huh?Fuck this。And the plot twists are just depressing? Evelyn being the mother of Rhian and Japeth just doesn't work, she has no special meaning here nor back then, it feels like Soman just kept on taunting us while writing this。 The twist is so abrupt and so bad because the readers did NOT see that coming before! And not in a good way, because Evelyn NEVER implied that she had kids back in book two (it doesn't have to be in your face, but AT LEAST give us a clue!) and she died in book two AND is never mentioned by the characters in a meaningful context after that? This is so embarassing, Soman probably thought that he tricked his readers but it fell flat because it lacks the substance it needs to be a plot twist: clues。(This is not explained in book five, but in book six。 So I'm marking it as a spoiler。 You've been warned。) Another thing that bothers me is (view spoiler)[ The School Master being Rhian and Japeth's father (hide spoiler)] I'm baffled by the inconsistency between the two trilogies in the series because (view spoiler)[ it is never implied that Evelyn Sader and The School Master formerly had something romantic between them in book two。 In book two, Evelyn went on a great length to ensure that SHE would bring him his "true love" aka Sophie。 It can be excused that Evelyn just LOVES him so much, she's willing to bring Sophie to him but even their dialogues do not imply anything other than servant-master relationship。 I guess Evelyn is just that one dumbo who does everything for love and this is the same person who thinks men are second class citizen in book two。 (hide spoiler)]Tedros 。 。 。 he went from a misogynistic and dumb jock to a less misogynistic and dumb jock, and I guess that's enough character development。 I had so much hope for this book and I was intrigued by Rhian but this is just pages of disappointment。 The only bearable character here is Agatha。 Don't even get me started on Sophie, especially at the end of the book where she returns to Rhian because she BELIEVES she's the only one who can fix it。 Agatha, Sophie, and Tedros need to learn how to communicate healthily。*sigh*(hide spoiler)] 。。。more
